Somewhat predictably the pond life who won the auction for my C15 van has disappeared into the ether…… tedious
Am I allowed to offer it for sale here?
if so, here’s the copy from the eBay add…….I’d like at least it’s scrap value, I’m guessing £400?
Well, here it is. My dear old hardworking C15 van has reached the end of its practical life with me. Impending ULEZ,corrosion, and other bits and pieces mean it’s not viable for me to spend money to keep it. Such a shame, I love this van, I genuinely do. It is SO practical and useful, and a genuine joy to drive, so light, simple, fun
The bad bits; Although remarkably ‘good’ for most of the underneath, the areas in front of both rear wheels, the outer and inner sills will need welding to pass an MOT. The headlights are cable tied in, they have been in the 5ish years I’ve owned it. Both the driveshaft gaiters on the long driveshaft are split, there’s a complete new driveshaft that comes with the van. The paint, well, it was rollered in matt grey when I bought it, I sprayed it dark blue over the top. Both window winders are kaput, I’ll leave one mole grip with it. The rear arm bearings are starting to show negative camber issues. There’s probably more, but that’s the ‘serious’ stuff….
Good; New clutch about 18 months ago,I have the receipt, utterly bombproof engine and mechanicals. Deceptively huge load space. As mentioned, an utter joy to drive, if that’s your thing.
So there it is, I’ve been absolutely honest, it’s not got an MOT, it won’t pass one as it is. You COULD drive it away, it runs absolutely fine, but that’s up to you. It’s tatty, tired, will probably be covered in a fair bit more bird curse word, etc, etc. I shouldn’t have to explain the obvious but I will. READ the above. It’s a tatty, non MOT’d, 20+ year old small French van. Non paying bidders will be reported to eBay, and if you bid and win, you should do the decent thing and pay and collect it.You are welcome to come and look, it’s located in the TW11 area, but please don’t ask to view 5 minutes before the auction ends! I’m starting it at its scrap value, it would be so sad to scrap it, but it’s got to go. I will genuinely miss it.
