Here for sale is a Peugeot 205 CJ fitted with a 1360cc petrol TU3A engine.
**Taxed but no current MOT**
I've lost hope in it, spent many hours trying to get it ready for the summer and it failed it's MOT on emmisons. The HC read 1400ppm should be below 1200.
Has a spluttering idle and it's above my skill set to sort it.
It's had a carb gasket set with new smaller jets from southern carburettors. I believe it may be down to the float level but it's running rich and I think dumping fuel in combustion chamber then misfiring.
Either way it's a solid car with minimal rust mainly due to being off road garaged for 10 odd years. Pug1off rebuild the rear brakes and pipes.
Had been in use and driven to Italy a year back but since then was parked up.
I've replaced the serviceable items such as air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, oil, ignition amplifier, starter motor, new jets and mixture screw, battery and i'm sure I've forgotten some other odds and sods.
I've got the original documents and books, set of keys and tonneau cover. Purple piped mats matching the purple bumper inserts (GTi had red) V5 in my name and address, I've had it since November 2022.
The roof is in great condition and no rips. Tyres up front are dated 2018 and rears have great tread but I believe 2015 date code. Spare tyre has been replaced with a decent tyre but it's 13" part worn due to size.
Alpine CD unit fitted with newer speakers. Everything works inside. yellow head ligh bulbs and will come with yellow tinted square fog lights.
The issue is fuel related the choke light remains on for some reason. It runs well but with the spluttering at idle due to rich running.
Sold as a project for someone who is better skilled than me or a good basis for another TU engine with more go.
Would consider a swap, anything with lower emmisons considered😉
