Sorry its been a few months and progress is being made. The guys at Harveys are making good progress during their downtime and its in great hands.
Just to give you an idea of the parts we are getting in to make sure this car that has not been out of a barn in 27 years runs and drives as it should. Nearly all from a GT4 specialist, the only one in the UK basically and using genuine parts where possible.
Parts So Far
- 4x Toyo CF2 Tyres
- Dizzy Cap, Rotar arm & O Ring
- Ignition Coil
- Wiper Blades
- Battery
- Spark plugs, oil and filter
- Recon Fuel tank
- Fuel pump, filter and lines
- Brake pads
- bleed nipples all round
- Oil & Water pump
- Cambelt Kit
- Auxiliary Belt
- Factory turbo rebuild
- All Associated gaskets, fluids, nuts and bolts
There were of course some minor storage dings in the bodywork so I had a local paintless dent removal guy spend a few hours on the car to get all the panels pretty much perfect. We will only be paint the mirrors, sun roof and rear bumper.
The guys did all the engine bits and she fired straight up, it sounds nice and smooth but it is smoking, suspect turbo oils seals. Luckily I had a spare turbo so sent it of to Turbo Performance for a stock rebuild, I just said replace everything thats available to replace so we basically got a brand new turbo back.
Soon we will focus on the few bits of paint, wheel refurb before fitting tyres and finding replacements side decals as I jet washed one side off by accident.
