At $30.00 each, plus tax, shipping and import duties…… Naaaahhhh. Spun aluminium sauce pan lids from the cheapy shop. You know that’s absolutely where my head works, and my wallet. I like the way the originals are held in place on a little bridge, held in place by the wheel nuts. I could also make my own template on the wood lathe by creating a shallow wooden bowl, then adding some thin ally plate and push forming it into the bowl to make my own custom “mini moon discs” if the turning diameter is big enough. But, all sorts of options are available, like Diff illustrated on Ratrods for Africa as an example. A bit of lateral thinking gets you a long way down the road. I also need to do some welding on this thing……

You like PICKUP TRUCKS??? You'd only have to find 2 of the 'Little Tikes' wheels then Now there's another I'd..... No. Forget that one. A possible 'Cop Out' paint theme? No idea yet on paint. The amount of gel coat damage means either a ton it restoration, or a Rustoleum paint roller job. I have thought serious paint, up to metal flak, lace paint, airbrush art etc, and all the way down to Silly New York Taxicab in yellow and checkers. One of the thoughts was to get a banger racer paint artist, the guys who do murals etc to just let rip with colours, right down to WW2 style fighter craft with rivets and a half naked girl on the bonnet and fender, counting bombs. Nothing will be off the table.

Congratulations grizz, You've made it to the top! Just one more post and You will be the only number one postswise! Not sure if that is something to be proud of, or embarrassed. No idea where you find such information but interesting seeing who is there. I guess I tend to respond to people. And though a ton of people have left for various reasons over time, I notice only a few regular contributors, maybe the way life, internet, offerings like IG and others evolve. We consume information at a huge rate, and older technologies and “things “ are traded constantly for what seems to be better. I may be older than some, but love the more tangible community on here. Rich maybe that reads better.

maybe the smell of death. I’ll check the basement but I’m not sure anyone has died 🤔 contributors come and go, and faces change as trends dictate.

from the advert it is a "Mycar" currently being advertised on car & classic www.carandclassic.com/car/C1558443to answer Grizz's question , no I don't actually want one yet but I do actually want another Smart car, cabrio or a forfour Have you bought it? I have a 400 x 10 tyre on the back of my Lambretta 😂 And that…… is a good reason for this thing to have a chunkier tyre, and wider wheels. But one needs to see what is available, sensibly.

Been cold and unpleasant this week, did not even take the Rezin Rockit out for wheel alignment yesterday because it was pouring all day, and last night it dropped to -2’C So today is less than pleasant. But it is time to go at least sniff around the garage. In other news…… The last week was filled with me trying to convince, justify and buy this car. At £3750 it was never going to wait for me to collect it via Craig from Manchester, 270 miles from here. Someone bought an awesome car. I suspect the Canta would easily fit in the rear on its side. Later.

Do you really believe you could live with just two knowing there's a third? Being the unselfish guy I am, one would be for Craig, one for Fil and then we need one for glenanderson as well. Imagine a gang of Canta’s proving you Canta stop Canta from Canta-ring to Amsterdam.

That is not a million miles away from what I was thinking... With a little bit of this thrown in... Oddly enough, I thought of the 'Metronome' Bond when I saw the front of this creation. Not quite the same but not as 'snub' nosed as it first appeared from the rear shot.

I'd love to see a side by side comparison picture of this next to a real Mini ( Classic Mini).
A Mini is 120.25 inches overall and a Canta LX is 90 inches ( Info from the internet) a full 30 inches or 2 feet 6 .25 inches shorter than a mini.

It's like an American cubist Citroen Ami 6! But convertible! And with a spoiler! It's hideous! But kind of cool. I wonder what it drives like....
