Firstly, feel free to delete if this already exists, I had a brief look but I'm lazy and didn't see anything! For people like me, who have all the intentions of creating a build thread but never get around to doing it/never get around to keeping it updated this thread is for you! Short post about what you've been upto, Car related ideally As for me, got next week off work prior to starting a new job so figured it's time to get the MX5 ready for summer.. dragged it out of the garage, first time it's seen the sun since i think August? I pulled the engine out back in August for a bit of 'quick' maintenance, ended up converting it from auto to manual and refreshing the engine. Also had a garage clearout.. scary how much Mk1 MX5 stuff i've hoarded. So what about you guys/girls?

Removed the Prop and Cardan Shaft from the Manta so I can send them off to get reconditioned and balanced. Hopefully this will sort out the vibration that gets bad around 2500 rpm onwards.

Yesterday I got my daily Crossfire back on the road after a full rear suspension/subframe rebuild and swapping out the cheapy ta technix lowering springs for Eibachs Went and put some fuel in it, then kerbed the hell out of one of the front wheels when I got back as I misjudged how wide it is 🙃

So first day off i decided to start putting the MX5 back together, first job was to fit the Clutch pedal/master cylinder as i converted it from Auto to manual a few months ago.. fiddly with the dash in.. and i had a Mk2 Dash i wanted to retrofit into it at some point.... So I'm an idiot, rather than putting stuff back on, the cars now even further apart. But the magical 3'rd pedal is now present. Promised the girlfriend we'd do something non car related tomorrow.. more fool me. So plan for later this week is work out the wiring differences between the 2 dashes, make a loom and get it fitted hopefully

Little bit more progress on the 5 today, this week off is going quicker than expected unfortunately.. I may start an actual build thread, but for now ill dump stuff here. Stripped the MK1 & MK2 Dash down, got the wiring looms off, and started separating/de-looming the parts i'll need from the MK2 loom. I also had an idea.. MK1s are known for the ECU sitting in the passenger footwell getting damaged by water etc.. they're not the most watertight classic cars. So the MK2 Dash had a passenger airbag which may have got responsibility disposed of during some bonfire night festivities. I have a space, I'm going to relocate the ECU up there in the dry. Few pictures.

Also worth noting although this exists: forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=668273Not all the colours are correct, so ill have to do some digging for RHD wiring looms for the right year etc. It's mostly right and helpful though!

Not retro but just for completeness I finished the engine off. Looks like a new one....because it is...almost. Did 100 miles from new before the radiator was damaged during a minor crash and it overheated. Stripped, cleaned and checked it over, then built back up with new gaskets etc.

Final update from my week off, nowhere near as much progress as id planned, isn't that always the way.. Also decided to get it how i want it i need to spend more time and ive accepted it wont be done this summer, so the man logic plan is to now take longer, get everything how i would like it over summer when its nicer to work on it.. and buy another convertible, likely another mx5, to enjoy over summer.. So she's tucked back in the garage for now.. awaiting motivation/funds/time I also found some yen under the carpet! Depending on if this thread gets used/keeps going ill update in here when i do something next, alternatively ill start a build thread eventually.

LOL. been looking duratecs for mgb swap i didn’t realise what sort of power they made!!! Pound per hp they're about as cheap as NA tuning gets upto 210hp or so, and NC MX5 gearboxes make RWD conversions much easier. The only real drawback is they're quite tall.

Yeah, the 2.0 is a fair bit shorter than a 2.5 too.

Put a new flasher relay in my daily so now it’s got indicators again. Also polished and ceramic coated this 2022 911 GTS for one of my customers.

Selling this recently I focused on sealing the leaking sunroof on the Off road Landy and bodging the front grill. This followed searching for the next project on social media,
