Does anyone have any recommendations for a propshaft specialist? Closer to Sussex the better, as I'd like to drop it off and pick it up from them ideally. We were planning to just go to AutoProp up near East Grinstead but when phoned the old guy said they weren't taking on any new work right now. We've asked a couple of car builders we know locally, but thought I'd ask on here too. I can find a few places on a Google search but wondering where's good and where to avoid? It's nothing crazy I need, just something basic and balanced that can handle sub 200hp. I have both required ends, just need an appropriate sized shaft made up. The car it's for: My mk1 Cavalier with MX-5 engine/box swap. Thanks.

It's a little further afield, but I've used JW Engineering up in Bexleyheath for my Jag prop. Proper old school engineering firm, and great work done.
If I'd known there was a prop 'shop in East Grinstead I'd probably have used them though! My folks live about 10 minutes away in Cowden.

Thanks mate, I'd seen JW name pop up a couple of times in different forum posts for various cars. I've dropped them a message, will see what they say. Yeah it's a real shame the guy in East Grinstead isn't doing it now, no idea if it's only temporary or if he has retired.

I used these excellent people to construct a prop for me from drawings. A very professional service and delivered within a couple of days. www.propshaft-services.co.uk

I'm putting an mx5 engine in a chevette at the moment. Got a manta b axle so will need to get a prop made at some point. Could you let me know who you used and how you get on please.
TIA Dan

Thanks all for the comments, I didn't receive notifications on this so didn't see any of these after the first one I replied to. TIA Dan Nice, seen a couple of those done, looks a good swap in a Chevette. Well not driven it yet but JW Engineering made it for me yesterday, while you wait service, all done and painted in an hour and a half. It fits absolutely perfectly, as long as it doesn't somehow fail immediately, which I'm sure it won't, I've got to give them a 10/10. MJC Engineering in Leicester are good. Used them for my Humber propshaft. Thanks mate.
