I know it's a modern but you lot know everything. π
2005 s40 t5 auto.
I set off for the mot a couple of weeks ago, car has been in the lockup almost a year, serviced it and charged up the battery, engine idling until warm, all ok so I set off, 20 yards and got a big red warning light and battery light, message on screen for power system failure urgent, I rang and cancelled the mot, didn't have a multimeter so put back inside.
Last Sunday I went back armed with required bits, MM into battery with no ignition, 12.1, not good, engine on, low 14's, I figured battery was knackered.
Ordered a collect in store from ECP, picked up at 10.00, fitted, great readings all round.
MOT
Monday, all is well... Sort of, as I pulled up at mot station the light came back on, quick check and all readings are good, lights went out, mot passed, it did it again on the way home.
Does it every day commuting AFTER 20 minutes driving, goes after 5 minutes, sometimes comes back on.
Never on at start up.
Could a worn aux belt cause it, or a regulator ?
