So the likes of Retropower doing extensive shell mods that would probably require BIVA, and installing a crate LS with Euro 6 emissions would not be able to drive in the ULEX zones without paying? Probably not. The emissions would be low enough to meet the ULEZ criteria, but BIVA does not record the NOX levels, only the CO & Hydrocarbons.

If it's like the LEZ system then it goes on the date of registration hence a Q plate smiley diesel transit reregisted post 2000 doesn't incur the £100 a day charge but if it was still registered on its original plate it would get charged.

Thanks guys, so something like Dez's Scimitar, it's over 40 years old, would that still get away with free use or would the engine swap balls that up?
I'm just trying to find a usable everyday GT car that I can build up to avoid all the nonsense but that could still be great to drive and fast enough to hang with modern stuff
