The woody wagon thread put this in my head when I found this This got me thinking what my current project might look like with a set. So I dug out this Shame they're so bloody expensive, still it's free to look so I did. Is there another accessory that screams retro as much as a white wall? Lets see what you've got stashed away.

I've read reports of them rubbing through tyres and even preventing tyres sitting on the bead fully so had just dismissed them. Maybe I'll give them another look.

Worth mentioning, since the Port-a-wall type whitewalls are illegal in Germany (rightly so, some would say), then some bright spark came up with these things, which are beauty rings, with hard plastic whitewalls, that are just clear of the tyre, so they can't rub. They're a bit of a 10ft away type deal, but it's a reasonable and fairly inexpensive solution. Google "Weisswandringe" and you'll find them. www.bus-ok.de/T1-T2-T3-Weisswandringe-4cm-inkl-Edelstahlringen-14-Zoll-Top

Oh braaap I can see that getting taken down, is it a Gil Evgren do you know? I know nothing about it other than I like it. Google only finds a page named redbubble where You can buy repros from it. The original page is here: RavusUnfortunately there doesn't seem to be anything but the german language version. Those trim rings are available from 12 to 16 inches and only useable on steel rims.

some whitewalls suit certain cars like the narrow one above does the job and some do not, like this Beetle which I think spoil the look of the car
