my rover 100 has 13" wheels now. I plan to give it a bit more power, so I'm thinking of upgrading the brakes also. I would like to put it back on wheel trims with steel wheels. Is there a brake wheel combination that will work for me? maybe rover 200 brakes and wheels? I don't know. I just wondered if anyone had done this already.
thanks

You can't go particularly big on the tyre size, as the tread will rub on the rear radius arms. This allows you to run the MGF 240mm vented front discs, which were Metro GTi spec. Again, cheap and easy. Metro/R100s aren't heavy, and even a 160VVC engined one doesn't need any more than that as a road car.

All you need is a pair of calipers and carriers from an MGF plus new discs and pads from your favourite supplier. They might, or might not, fit with your current wheels.

ill get some calipers and see how a wheel fits. The trims on my wheels are damaged, tyres arnt the best so getting other wheels is no big problem.
the rear drums i think will be fine, ill just make sure they are in good condition.
edit are mgtf calipers are the same?

Its ok for normal use, but if anything happened, itll do thee tyre in or one wheel may stop. I may extend the bump stops by not that much really. Is there a 14" ally that will fit with a better offset? thanks

What size tyre are you running? Most R100s on 14" alloys are on something like 195/45 14s, although the narrower steel wheels work well with (I think) 175/55 14s.
Your problem is that the basic body and a lot of the suspension was carried over from A-series Metros, which were designed for 12 and 13" wheels with small tyres. Going to 14s means compromising slightly on clearance, and dramatic lowering isn't really an option. It's a bad idea anyway, due to limited suspension travel and ground clearance - even at stock ride height you'll dent and scrape the stock downpipe within a few miles of fitting a new one.

165 60 14 it was the closest rolling radius to the standard 13" that i could get really.
I want to keep it as factory ride height, i hate low cars, but its just if i take off in it and land say, or a suspension pipe goes, itll lock up the wheel. I'm not sure if that is normal or a problem?
