The rubber fuel filler pipe running from the filler neck to the top of the tank has perished and leaking. Sadly I found this out after filling the tank on my 1.7 Puma.
I’ve ordered a replacement but my question relates to where the fuel actually stops when full. Will the petrol sit in this rubber pipe or above in the plastic pipe section or does “Full” actually represent the top of the tank?
Make sure me wonder as I assume the fuel would sit in the filler pipe as the petrol nozzle stops when the fuel is backed up, daft question but not thought about it before as clearly I want to avoid petrol guzzling on the garage floor when removing the pipe.
