Mk1 Cavalier 2.0 engine and auto box, from a 1980 GL Automatic. 45k miles shown on the clock.
Engine - £100
Auto box - £60
The car has been dry stored since 1997, I recently acquired it off a guy who started restoration but couldn't complete. I am going a different direction with the engine choice, so I have no need for the original, hence the sale.
It has been partially stripped down by the previous owner. The cam and rockers are removed and sealed up in oil filled bags.
Comes with a brand new water pump, and full gasket/seal kit. Will also come with the original starter motor. Alternator etc. as seen in photo are still attached, and it will come with those bits (these are also untested).
I want to be completely honest, the cam could be re-installed and it'd be a perfectly good engine, I honestly don't know, it may need more. It was already removed from the car when I bought it, and I've paid little attention to it as I never intended on using it.
Priced cheaply as to be honest it's just in the way and we could do with the space in the workshop. At the very least it'd be a great load of spare engine bits for someone with a 2.0.
The auto box is much the same, though not disassembled. It appears to engage the gears as it should, the input shaft spins freely, the ATF I drained out of it looked great to be honest, considering how long it has sat for. Will come with shifter/linkage and the pipes for the cooler. I can't guarantee anything about the box, but it appears to be ok from what I can tell.
Prices reflect the untested nature of both items, which I think are perfectly reasonable.
Car is not being broken so unfortunately no interior, panels etc. are for sale. Intake manifold and exhaust manifold are both provisionally sold already.
Collection from Littlehampton, West Sussex, BN17.
Cheers
