Can anyone ID this? I picked it up with some Hillman Imp spares today but am sure it's not for an Imp. It has AEC 59 CD cast on it but I think it should actually be 159. I see other things online about them with 3-digit number where this only has 2 but it looks like there is a space for the 1st digit. It has one insulator/spacer on it and marks suggest there were a pair of these but they don't look correct to me as the bolt-hole spacing has been altered. It also had 1 Stromberg (125?) CD bolted to it but that could be from anything as the guy had loads of them on various manifolds and they were fitted to Imp Sports

Yes I was wondering how it would fit a car with 4 cylinders if it only has 2 branches (and also no bolt-holes) but that's helpful.
The ones on Minis seem to have a different bit in middle

Possibly early 948 or 1147 Triumph Herald as there are no holes to fit to the port side.
Hard to tell from the pics, but if there is an upsweep from port flange to carb flange, which is needed to clear the master cylinders, it could be a rare Standard 8/10 one. Alexander made tuning bits for Standard/Triumph back then.

Wow.
Very helpful. I am veering towards Herald as I found a thread somewhere where a guy was asking similar question and something was said about Herald but the thread didn't continue.
I'll take a pic side-on later but looking at it just now if the port flange is held vertical the tracts to the carb flanges are inclined at about 30 degrees

Hi, Yes I would agree with the suggestion of the Standard 8/10. I looked at Standard/Triumph but the later engines fitted to herald's and the like had four inlet ports, whereas the 8/10 had two, I've since realised and the manifold clamping method ties in.

Hi folks. fwiw I sold the manifold on Ebay and got a lot more than the £40 I listed it for The buyer wasn't very communicative tho and I asked him if I was close with the listing (ie Herald or Standard 8/10) and no response yet
