In complete contrast to my French whoosh-mobile,
I also own this,
Recently had some work done on the front end of the engine to address some water pump, timing chain issues, etc. At the same time an external transmission oil cooler was fitted as the old radiator which had an inbuilt trans cooler got binned.
Ever since then, the transmission, a tough as old boots FMX hasn’t been ‘quite right’. Initially it was really bad, wouldn’t move when put into gear, then when revved, it kinda went, but not always….. I’ve been slowly adding fluid and it’s been getting better-less bad- but it’s still not right, and it now makes an odd, tinkling, squeaking buzzing noise in gear after a few miles of driving. It’s running B&M trick shift fluid, which is ‘F’ type compatible but I wonder if the fluid is too ‘clever’ or good? I always used to run it on Dexron 3
Also, it pretty much impossible to really check the fluid level as it’s supposed to be done running in park, but you try telling where runny fluid is on an old steel coloured dip stick!!
Any thoughts gladly appreciated, thank you
