Carrying on with the odd swaps theme. One of the custom builds, typically because something had failed, so finding a more reliable option. Can you say hybrid The Reveal……. Yup…… a full MX5 transplant, and the front end changed out. And there was more. Breakfast next.

I would never have guessed 914, and I've got one. Probably a sign I should move it on to someone who'll appreciate it. The pit bike is cool. A pal of mine works for Super 73 and I've ridden one of their test mules. Mental fun. I'm ambivalent about everything else, but I love a Grizz thread so I'm in for the journey anyway. How's that for damning with faint praise?

I find "the land of the free" can be vary variable in that respect, for a nation seemingly obsessed with freedom.
I have chums all over who are amazed how easy it is to do certain things here, and some TBF who see things ridiculous here.
But on my little road trip I stayed with friends along the way. For one, I had to leave my car at his work and him drive me to his house as he isn't allowed to have visitors cars outside his house. Seriously. ANother I had to send him measurements of the LTD to ensure that it would fit on his drive as cars have to sit behind a certain line behind the pavement on the drive. A friend who got drinking with me and forgot to take the flag down at sunset as required, and thought he would get fined if anyone had seen and reported him....
I don't think I could live in a US city. That kind of thing would drive me INSANE

Well, a Porsche would have been my last guess! haha fantastic! Weird is good. And Michael is an accomplished engineer and problem solver, hence getting along and collaborating with Andy on weird stuff. Bum, I was gonna say Porsche 914 or 916. And I was only going to say that as I noticed the rear quarter of a yellow 914 creeping into the picture with the red one, and the colour matched the colour around the engine bay. Well, I will give you half a virtual beer for that. .

Over the weekend I saw homeless families living in parks, no photos, as it would be demeaning, even in a drive by shoot.

Being built for a client……. Love the wheels. And lastly, one he built and painted for himself 20 years ago. He has just pulled it into the shop for a full suspension and associated item rebuild and refresh. I saw nothing wrong with the car, but guys like Michael are pretty special in the way they build. Carol, Andy’s friend is also a car girl, like Kim, Clem’s wife. So refreshing to have ladies who share our interests. And well into her 70’s she will run circles around many many women half her age. Trust me. After the shop tour, we let Michael get back to lunch and work and heded out for a local tour with Andy the guide. Cannabis farming, anyone?

I quite like that 240Z myself, and the frog eye sprite. The 911 is quite cool and it's got me in mind of that Porsche Mystery Machine dragged home from across the pond, I can't seem to remember what the conclusion to that story was, maybe I should go look for his tale. However all that being said I kinda want to know more about the 914 misteralz has tucked away, I think they're probably my favourite Porsche.

However all that being said I kinda want to know more about the 914 misteralz has tucked away, I think they're probably my favourite Porsche. I thought I had a build thread on here, but I've just checked and I don't. I'll do one, as well as one for the other Porsche. Long story short is I was after something aircooled as my first Porsche couldn't ever be anything else. I'm still kicking myself for turning down a pearlescent black 944 for 2k, so you can imagine how long I've had it now... but I digress. It was in a barn - yes, really - less than half a mile from me. The boy had bought it to put the running gear in his 550 replica, stripped it down, realised it was too good for that, but never put it back together. It was a shell and 2m³ of crates. I sorted the hellhole and put it back together, and it's almost done.

Headed out from Michaels, we went to see some rather large cannabis producing facilities. They use 3 phase electricity….. so placed near pylons. On the way we passed Jennings. I love these water towers and the way even the smallest of towns will, display their names. Cannabis farms……. Very tall closed fences and dogs roaming, along with CCTV. Stopped to see the local prison. It is a dire place. Holds 4 Andy and. Carol each drive a yellow Toyota….. School run. After this, we headed home, dropped Carol off at her house and Andy and I went to his shop to do some work.

Amazing photo’s - again ! Could have spent hours possibly / probably days at Michael’s Thanks buddy. Yes, we could have too, there is much more, including a restoration of an Airstream and some vintage plant he keeps to manage the 8 acres he has. There is a lot more than what I showed. Hard work and the American dream.

I love the concept of a surplus Morgan. Thats a lifestyle.... LOL. As mentioned, they have more stuff, work hard and it is a family that still has most of the cars his parents had, all running and on the road. The Ariel is getting a more powerful, Turbo Honda motor fitted.
