It looks like Transport for London are going to expand the ULEZ zone again next year to cover the whole of the Greater London area. It's in a consultation stage at the moment, but I think most of us affected know it's going to happen. Just greed on TfL's part. My 202, which I really want to keep, is not compliant, and I won't be able to afford the £12.50 per day to keep and use it. The mot is due next month, and I will be fitting new front discs and pads as I've noticed juddering while braking. I'll bosh it in for its test after that, and if it passes ok, it'll be up for £750. If it fails, well, we'll cross that bridge etc. etc. I really can't see it failing on much, if anything. It's basically a good old Merc. It wasn't when I bought it as it needed several issues sorting. I gradually went through the faults and sorted them, and it runs and drives lovely now. The thing that lets it down is the paintwork, mainly on the nearside. It has vandal scratches to both doors, the C pillar and a bit on the rear quarter. I've tried to highlight these areas in the photos. It also has a weird circular patch on the bonnet. I was going to get round to tackling these areas, but when the further expansion of the zone was announced, it has sort of peed on my bonfire. Hope you understand what I mean. The engine and box are absolutely fine and it uses no oil or coolant. The brakes, apart from what I've already mentioned, are good and the parking brake holds the car rock solid. The interior is in good condition apart from a small amount of wear on the drivers seat bolster. It could do with a good shampoo now. There are no overheating issues. All the tyres are of the same make and are like new. They're Chinese, but have a very good write up and I have no qualms about driving on them. It has all the usual toys fitted, but I've never tried the air or cruise as I just don't drive far enough in it. All windows and central locking work ok. It has one key. I'm sure there's loads more you need to know, so just ask and I'll be as honest as I can. This is a VERY reluctant sale and if TfL decide to not to go ahead with the expansion, then this will be withdrawn from sale immediately.

You've probably noticed that the front and rear bumpers are scruffy. Once again, something I was going to get round to, but I've lost all appetite for it now.

That's cheap. Was looking for those wheels for a 190e and could find them anywhere. Looks like a great buy GLWTS

Cheers mate. It is a good Merc. I set the price taking into account the paintwork. We'll see how it fares regarding the mot, although the car was up on a lift last week as I was having some work done to the exhaust.I had a look over it, and it all seems pretty solid under there. That set me back 150 quid, but had to be done. Gutted to have to sell. Looking at reasonably priced petrol W203's now. Anyone got one they want to do a deal with?

Cheers Dan. I bought this in desperation actually. My wife's Pajero failed the mot on extensive welding, so I gave her my Honda CRV and I was car-less. I was offered this and bought it straight away. It was missing, and I traced the fault to the front coil pack. I replaced that and the plugs and it runs lovely now. The cat had been cut off and replaced the a straight pipe, and it was blowing badly. I fitted a new front pipe with cat. It's taken ages to get the exhaust right, but it was finally sorted last week. The blower motor wasn't working, so I changed that and it blows toasty on all speeds when required. It clears the glass very quickly on cold mornings. The drivers door mirror mechanism was broken, so that's been replaced. I haven't had to get the spanners out to it for a good while now. It's just totally reliable. Oh, the boot wasn't lifting when unlatched, so I've sorted that too. It's just the paintwork now.

GLWTS Tetley, these are really great cars (ask me how I know) anyone thinking about buying this I've known Mr T for Donkeys and what you see is what you get always straight with description. FWIW I'll probably be in the same boat soon thanks to Sadiq Khan.

You inside the zone Dave? I thought you'd be outside where you are. I'm about a quarter of a mile inside. And you're right about Mr Kahn, a total disaster for London.

Right, I've found a car to replace the 202. The 202 has mot until 28th August, so if anyone would be interested in buying it as is, drop me a pm. I'll throw the new discs and pads in with the deal. Don't try to kick me up the bum too hard though. Check the mot history of the 202 if you haven't already, it's pretty good.

I'm about a mile or outside but effectively will only be able to drive to work & back after ulez expansion 😡 so will have to buy a newer car 😲 or a proper retro ride 😆

I'd just like to say thanks for the nice comments and likes. But, I'm beginning to wonder if I'm expecting too much for this. What do you think people? What sort of price would really make you sit up and take notice? I would really appreciate your opinions.

I honestly think that the price you are asking is a bargain and also that the other members speak so highly of you is a credit . Please somone give this motor a good home.

Yes it has, but I've never used it, never tried the aircon either. Brake discs arrived today, along with the brake cleaner. Pads are taking a little longer.

Well, I've just the 202's replacement sold from under me. I was on the verge of booking coach and rail tickets to go and collect and the chap sold it yesterday. He must have thought I was a messer or something. Bit angry actually. So if anyone has a later W203 c class you'd do a deal with, give me a shout. Can't have diesels, not ulez friendly. Don't mind engine size or small faults, but can't do with anything major. Feel free to pm me.

New front discs and pads fitted today. Next day off I get, I'll present it for mot. I'm pretty confident it'll go through. The front end looks to be in really good nick. Looks like it's had fairly recent wishbones, they still have stickers on them. Perches look like new.
