Second caravan for me and the family. The first, as with a lot of people was bought during Lockdown to do, started to gut it then time/finances wouldnt allow but I will get back on to that one.
This one has been in our yard at work for some 3 years now. I've kept checking on its interior to see if it's dry and always seems to be.
Then a couple of weeks ago I offered the fella that owned £200 and he accepted .
This is going to be a quick turn around to use this summer, working on the interior as we go.
I haven't told the missus or my son. So it's going to be a complete Suprise.

Got a steamer type trunk to put a gas bottle in, gets rid of the awful plastic one and it's steel.

Bought some air vents that look suitably vintage for the air flow in the trunk for the gas bottle. Cut holes and mocked up today.
Also cut brackets and hinges off the box as I need to extend the sides to fit the bottle in.

The most part of the body was sanded by my neighbour business who do coach painting, they had it done in less than an hour.
I now just need to spend time getting the paint off the trims as I want them back to aluminium.
I've also decided to add a sun visor to the front of the caravan.

Since nobody else is responding so far: I'm in, even bookmarked this, as I'm curious how this will turnout after that pic of someone preparing for a paintjob!
Why don't You cut out the bottom of that trunk and put it onto some wooden box, so the trunk is high enough for the gas bottle. So it should not be that noticeable, that You had to enlarge the height?

Paint is going to be a 2 tone jobby using raptor

I know bedliner has a purpose and it’s great for off-roaders etc but anything that isn’t one of those painted with it always looks like a ‘last hurrah’ before it gets scrapped. It’s the tetrashutz finish for me. Just looks so half assed on cars. Sorry to be negative. Fun to see another caravan being played with though, crack on and do your thing

As with most of our things (house, garden) with have tropical themes running through them inspired by our love of Tiki and Hawaiian culture.
So I've bought a carpet runner from Aldi and matching cups, bowls and plates in a tropical print.
The Bamboo handles are an Amazon find and generic gold velvet seat covers for the time being

looking at the size of the box will you be able to wind the jockey wheel up and down as it looks a bit close in the picture.
