Gonna start a thread for the scooter events that I go to as an aside to my scooter build threads.
I'm pretty biased towards the style of scooter I photograph as not all tastes appeal to me.
So last weekend was an event in Scunthorpe put on by the Scunthorpe Silhouettes SC.

Awesome paint skills on show. Scooters ALWAYS seem to have the best paint jobs anywhere.
I remember seeing one at the NEC a few yrs back that was themed on the 66 England World Cup win, it was incredible, the paint looked like photographs. Tbh that Ian Brown image looks about the same, amazing

The first photo in this thread is 'Sign of the Snake' 90% of this 8s the original paint job from when it was first done in around 1985. Painted by a chap called Maca at DTC (Down Town Customs). He was responsible for loads of iconic custom scoots in the 80s. I finally got to meet him at this show, bit of a fanboi moment Now more famous for his 'Streetracer' style paint jobs, all adapted from the racing scene of the mid to late 80s.  |

Think I may have put a pic up of this before (maybe not) a work mate built this in (I’m guessing) 83/84. He also had another amazing Lambretta in metal flake purple & lilac with Angelic Upstarts theme. Was called ‘Out of Control’ after one of their albums I believe.  |

Scooter Nova magazines Scooter Expo 2 was on Sunday, the first show was cracking so was very exited for this.
Once again they invited me to do a paint demo Pinstriping and Signwriting.
The emphasis of the show is bringing together old custom scooters with modern and restored examples.
It's held at Alfreton Leisure Centre in Derby and is a cracking venue over two large rooms.

Scooter Nova magazines Scooter Expo 2 was on Sunday, the first show was cracking so was very exited for this. Once again they invited me to do a paint demo Pinstriping and Signwriting. The emphasis of the show is bringing together old custom scooters with modern and restored examples. It's held at Alfreton Leisure Centre in Derby and is a cracking venue over two large rooms. Didn’t realise they held anything like that there. It’s literally 5 mins from my house 🤦🏼♂️ Just on a side note slacker, look at my thread on retros & classics on Madeira, I put some stuff up there for you if it’s of interest |

i have a series 1 i haven’t touched for a while it was invoices literally when i got it and had to source another frame loop, god it’s all rough , these show scooters are a work of art mine is and will be a pice of curse word but hey rat look is cool ha ha
i’m dropping into this rally soon to catch up with some mates but having to drive up from Kent as said not touched the scooter in ages

After the great success of our 2022 Rally we’re pleased to announce our rally dates for next year - 16th -18th June 2023.
CAMPER VANS - please note, we have limited numbers for camper vans. All camper van tickets must be purchased in advance via PayPal.
Early bird pre-pay tickets price is £15.00 per person for full weekend.
Early bird ticket purchase CLOSES Monday 1st May 2023, then £25.00 (per person) via PayPal up to Wednesday 14th June 2023, then £25.00 on the gate.
£10.00 extra for Van/Caravan.

Ah the snake!! Been around along time but still turns heads. I do like custom paint jobs but like the snake you've got to rack up the miles still!! Quality keep up the pics and more info on your build 👍
