Just acquired a mechanically sound if not body wise 2002 Citroen C15 600 D which as the later diesel engine / manual 5 speed version. No very little about this vehicle except its very basic which is good in retro terms / less electrical to go wrong. Any RR members owned one or have any information to share. Side photo of actual C15 van

I worked at a Citroen dealership when you could still buy them new. The main selling point was that it was the cheapest new van on the market. They didn’t shift a lot of them, as the Balingo had just come out and sold like hot cakes. When I would jump in one I would have a moment of panic when I hit the brakes. I had become used to the excellent brakes on the rest of Citroen’s range of cars. The C15 would stop but took some effort. I especially remember Driving an updated version with the new engine like yours for the first time. It seemed alarmingly quick for what it was. The plastics inside felt like they would come off in your hands, in general the hole van felt a bit flimsy. But the only thing that seems to kill them is rust. Apart from that they just keep going. And I always had a bit of a soft spot for them. Often wondered if you could put a pug 205 gti lump in one and have some fun at the traffic lights. I’ll be interested to see how you get on with this one, good luck.

Thanks for info austinpowers / after an Audi A3 the brakes put the wind up me first time i tried to stop in rush hour traffic but it got easier. Just got to find fuse box as think fuse blown / lights wont come on but indicators and flasher for headlamps work and brake lights / certainly quirky and looks like a lot of uncomplicated good fun maybe

I think the fuse box might be tucked up under the dashboard. You might have to get your head right down low to see it. It’s a long time since I’ve seen one of these out in the wild. The only ones that seem to be around still are the camper version.

Nice looking vans, I'm sure you'll get the usual "they always rusted" "they were terrible" but I think they look ace. The ones with the window in the back looked eeeeeven better😁 Good luck with whatever you do with it.

Check the fuses, but column switches can be temperamental.
I've moved on to a Berlingo now, after having a couple of these. Rust is the main killer of them unfortunately - I had to have several bouts of welding on both mine for MOTs over the years. But nothing beats them for reliability.
Never had a problem with the brakes myself, but Mrs M cited them as the reason she wouldn't drive mine. Ever.

Considered one when I bought my Astravan They seem to be a van that just keep going, can’t remember seeing a clean one that looked loved, but really like them and have seen 2 in the wild in the last year or so, though saw loads in Spain This is the last one I saw, on holiday last year

Thanks for info the light switch appears to be on left of steering wheel / basic turn knob / last owner said lights was working other day so assume its a fuse as other electrics good / just had cam belt and water pump / 10 months mot ish / body needs attention but got potential one way or the other for quirkiness they are a winner to me and as its a Champ this was special edition whatever that meant and as the later diesel engine

A newsagent friend of a friend has one of the very last '05 reg ones, in the same red colour. I would agree the campers are the most numerous left, probably because they were generally looked after and not used as much. The ones that were worked hard, like all those car part delivery vans (seem to remember a lot of C15s with companies like that), have died.
