Hello strangers!! I don't think I've ever let this length of time pass for an update, but with overtime seeming to be creeping in as normality now I really haven't had any time for Cindy until today! Although this isn't much to report back with, it's still progress and a step forward Let's get started, firstly the lower left hand repair section that I "Attempted" to make really wasn't acceptable in my terms and I wanted to start again. So I did just that, armed with the grinder and cutting disc I delved in As you can see I bought a repair section, for the sake of reducing the use of filler and presenting a much more pleasant finish, it was worth every penny. Going forward, I had to make some adjustments to the panel to fit. But after some trimming and several try-ons, I had a fitment I was happy with and tacked it on The rest is history, the seams were all welded up and flatted down, all that remains is to weld the bottom where it joins to the inner sills as well as the tub at the rear I was going to go back down to the garage to finish off the welding, but with the absence of the heater I was practically frozen for the day so staying at home for the remainder Next Sunday or possibly sooner I shall return with another post job. Sometimes the repair panels just beat, beating it out of sheet metal. Looking forward to seeing more.

Thank you kindly Grizz I am 100% with you, I'd have spent more time trying to make it look right rather than bite the bullet and get a pre-formed panel. Although it cost an arm and a leg, it was most definitely worth it, especially for the finish when she's done. Hopefully I'll have more this weekend coming fella, thanks again!

Just a brief update! Welding was on the cards for tonight when I finished. Made up my patch, had it situated in place, all setup and ready to weld... no gas . That was the end of that unfortunately, so instead I decided to opt for a wee workout session. No, I didn't go to the gym nor would I want to, it was for some filling of course! The great thing about epoxy primer is it doesn't need sanded before filling, unless you exceed a 7 day window then it's recommended that you do. At least all the bare metal underneath is sealed, and a coat of fibreglass should give it that bit more chance of lasting. Overall a very "Different" night and I'd be lying if I said I enjoyed rubbing filler again

Good progress, bummer on the house situation at least try to get all the work you’ve done covered in a good coat of epoxy before putting it outside

I suppose these things are sent to try us at times, but I'll get there! I definitely think that's the approach I'm gonna take here, I'm hoping if she does fit I can put polycarbonate down on the top of the wooden joists, just to shelter her. If not, maybe a XXXL car cover?

Nice work! This is just one of many companies that makes these but, seems fairly reasonable - don't know if you'd qualify for free shipping though
I've had a few covers from this place and they are decent quality standing up to the California sun for several years - don't know how they would fair in Bonny Scotland

This is ace - controversial but I can’t believe how cool these look with the 90s body kit removed. I’d be binning it personally and running it without bumpers.

I love how different she looks without any bodykit on too! But personally I always love the running boards as it gives it more "Width", so a widebody as such Running without the kit and bumpers would save a great deal in fuel too, but I'm sure a V8 isn't gonna make that a priority

Hi strangers!! I seem to have been making a habit of delayed updates the past few months, as the house move has taken place and working 6 days a week, it's really minimized, if any, spare time to work on Cindy. Nonetheless let's get torn in and see what's new! Firstly, I wanted to get absolutely EVERYTHING done that was on the list from day 1. The best of these things was removing the BIG thing Picture below was basically my first reaction once I seen what I was up against Before I get to what I have let myself in for rust wise, here's another thing removed that you may have noticed in the first picture: The windscreen is out and in one piece too!! I've no idea who's head engineer at GM was at the time, but 3 gaskets for a windscreen as well as being bonded in is just... I'm not even going to waste my energy Anyways, back to the reveal, I hope you're all ready for this: As many have said to me, taking on the restoration of my white Fiesta was incredibly brave. I can say for myself on this one (And no doubt you guys lol) that this is incredibly stupid. But I'm going to try, because quite frankly, I am too I haven't came this far to just give up, even though it's still an option. I'm going to power on through this as much as I can, because I'd 100% regret not trying than trying and not regretting Big thanks to one of my best mates Chris who spent most of his afternoon on Sunday shimmying the hightop off and cutting himself in the process, as well as cutting the windscreen out with me. What a boy!!

Hi again everyone, feel like I've been away forever! After my house move and trying to get settled in, I've started to turn my attention to Cindy once more! Although this update won't contain nearly as much as the previous, it's still a wee bit of progression and to let you know she hasn't met her maker... just yet Anyways, cutting to the interesting stuff, I decided to start buffing down the areas of most concern, mainly the A pillars and windscreen surrounding metalwork: A classic case of "It went from bad, to worse" BIG time. However the pain gets even greater: I drilled out the spot welds on the A pillars joining crossmember outer skin, THINKING I'd have something half decent to work with, wrong once again. It really is bizarre that I'm still deciding to fight this, especially considering the condition of the overall metalwork. There's been a few times lately I've been ready to submit defeat. But I push my boundaries, and in that glimmer of hope I may be able to prevail in a losing battle, it will be one of my biggest ever achievements throughout my whole life .
