So Mercedes have stopped supplying the secondary bonnet latch for the W201 and mine is missing the hoop aswell as the secondary latch. I can't find anyone breaking a 6 cylinder. So I'm thinking about bonnet pins, but I've seen alot of cheapo ones and ones that look curse word. I'd want the ones that are flush with the bonnet and pop up. Anyone recommend any that are reasonable quality at a reasonable price?  |

I've got both.
The Aerocatch (I'm sure mine were copies) I fitted to the Herald bonnet to stop vibrations. They self-open and sometimes jam themselves.
The buttons are on the valance and allow me to remove it quickly. They get a bit stiff.
My advice for whatever you choose, don't cheap out! Take a walk around a show and ask questions about ones which look a bit curse word and ones which look high quality.

I've already ordered the aerocatch ones, I'll see how I like the quality, may return them if I'm not impressed. I was keen to get this MOTd and this was the last piece of the puzzle.

Secondary bonnet catch isn't part of the UK MOT test believe it or not  Only test the bonnet latches in the fully closed position, and can be opened  As for the Aerocatch, as long as they are genuine manufactured and not a copy, and they aren't lubricated they are very nice things to use  |
