Evening, looking for a bit of advice on buying a car with no V5.
It’s a car I know so it’s not been stolen or anything. It’s, in fact, my Nan’s old car. Sadly she’s passed away, but put in a good show, making 102 years of age.
My Uncle, who is the (useless) Executor of the estate has thrown out all of the paperwork for the car including log book, service history etc.
Still, it’s a nice little run around and given it was used once in a blue moon to nip to the shops/pub/con club I’m happy to take a punt.
The thing that is putting me off is the lack of V5. My Uncle is inept with all things paperwork so he’s never going to apply for a new log book.
What options do I have? I see I can do a V62 but can I do that without my Uncle signing over ownership/registration?
Any guidance greatly appreciated.
