Anyone got one?
At the moment mine are in bags and chucked into a big tool case. This means I can transport tools to help friends etc. Those bags are worn through.
Does anyone have a handy and/or genius way to store a huge amount of sockets in a really small and portable way?

Halfords 200 piece toolkit, plastic tray or box for any odds and sods extra I need at the time.
everything else is in a cabinet at home

Socket rail on a tool wall in the garage for me. Always know where they are.

I use a socket tray like This. Hangs on the wall with the majority of my sockets in. Then I can throw a few tools on top and take it where I need it. If anyone has a smart suggestion for storing hex bits I'm all ears  |

I suppose its whether you are looking for garage solutions or mobile as you seem to be. If mobile, the Halfords shout is good although I suspect you don't want/need to buy tools, just find a better way of keeping them.

I like THESE. You won't find any more compact I use red ones for metric, and blue for imperial sockets. OOh, I like that. Can't close the lid on my SGS toolbox with the ones I have. |

That's one of the reasons I don't like the ones that stand the sockets upright on pegs. Another is that The magnetic, flat ones fit into a cantilever toolbox for when you're not at home; mine currently holds the 1/4 and 3/8" trays for working on Grizz's car. |

My half inch socket set that i carry when travelling weighs 16kgs on its own.  i always carry at least 2 of everything harking back to work days when if it could go wrong or break it did so always handy to have spares. I always also had a second identical set of everything at home in the garage. I need a sort out soon.  |
