There seem to be a few more photos up of the bodywork on eBay than before, in addition to describing what it will need, like the brakes, for those wanting a tidy car, some interior bits too.

The bodywork will be a big one for most, and I wonder if energy prices have played havoc with costs to do it. I know an RRer for example now pays £4 a day standing charge before even beginning to work on a car; Sounds like nothing but welders/paint booths etc. don't run themselves for free either.

Then there are question marks around the inserts (they tend to explode). The rest isn't bad, but it will soon add up, especially if alot of work is being outsourced.

One thing I noticed with two sales I've semi-been a part of are that buyers in the Covid world buy without viewing, even for what seems, at least to me, like good money. As two examples go :

-Autumn 2020 : Jaguar XJ12 Series 2 Carb version (Old M-Reg). This seemed to have blistered bodywork but not too bad. It however had a non-diagnosable running problem (it kept cutting out after an hour, with the chap having changed almost everything which would make it cut out. The guy who bought the car knew of it via the Jag circles but bought it blind 2 hours after it was listed for £3.5k. I could not believe it. Sure he may fix it and potentially flip it on, but friends of mine have been caught out with club cars before.

-January 2022 : My Velosolex sold on Facebook Marketplace (FM) blind for £800. I was expecting tyre kickers, folks to mention that it wasn't mint. I never did describe it as that but as a used bike with great provenience, being a super early example.

The chap bank transferred me the money a day after I listed it and had his brother pick it up. Given that FM seems to be a scammers central I was shocked.

What this does mean is folks can end up with a pile of rubbish unintentionally.

eBay meanwhile, has folks thinking they can sell curse word, and basically walk away from it, but that's a discussion for another time.
