OK so I'm circling back to supercharging for my C32 or possibly a new project. I know how the charger works, I know about forced induction. I'm a little unfamiliar with the bypass valve. I know it works like the turbo bov. Venting unwanted boost back into the vacuum side. My question is how do they work? How are they plumbed? The chargers I'm thinking about are from a mercedes C/SLK/CLK230K Can I dispense with it and replace with a conventional blow off valve plumbed back into the airbox? Do they work like an old school wastegate on vac / boost pressure alone or do they need a solenoid. Are they integrated into the chargers? I have googled this but I'm getting alot of info about factory charged cars and not so much the aftermarket side.
Yeah I know, turbo is better or an engine swap is easier. But I like doing stuff like this.
