So I asked for Advice in the buying section on here last night I was looking for another ford and hadn’t considered a ford puma One came up near to my parents house I was told by the owner it was absolutely mint, my interpretation of mint is normally way off what I find when I’m looking to buy But as soon as the owner opened his garage I’d bought this car It’s in absolutely first class condition under sealed and rust protected from new and unbelievably a very expensive respray last year due to lacquer peel and fade It’s a puma thunder so a bit of a rare limited edition Plans are to leave it exactly as it is and get to a few shows this summer, the ideal car alongside my W202    Great find. You're like a blood hound when it comes to sniffing out really clean motors, well done (again) You have said it just as it was written in my head. People can hate on Dan as much as their jealous assses can pucker up, but if you were his son, daughter, brother , sister or mate, you would be pretty chuffed if his wide open eyes found you, or negotiated you the deal of the week. In this country you cannot carry a gun, or machete sized knife to prove to a seller why they should sell an item at a sensible price, so Dan works his butt off to find these deals and enjoy them. Well purchased and found Dan. Now lets see if you can hold on to it till August. I suspect that, like everything, including my coveted S10 truck, (which I would sell) this could be for sale tomorrow, if someone sees the real value in a VERY TIDY Puma. I am loving this just as it is. |

Yep I’d suppose the puma is not a build thread
It will just be polished and loved
But it will sit here with my Mercedes , well pleased with the puma
Yesterday I swapped the CD player over to a spare the owner gave me as the original had a habit of switching itself off
Also have a new headlight that came with it to fit
As one has a small crack in it, the previous owner was very fastidious and I’m definitely in that camp when I find mint cars
Go to go up to my parents place today and retrieve my W202 after leaving that whilst I collected the puma
This afternoon will be a polish and hoover afternoon 👍
As for keeping these yes both will stay
I regret selling many cars and now we are in our dream home and settled I’m spending my hard earned on the house
So I have two great cars and no need or want to sell either for a good long while !

I mean it is a great shame that we can't threaten people with physical violence until they give us the things we want at the price we want them, like cheap... or free. !  !? Anyway, ford Puma is sure fire future classic. |

Thanks👍👍just fiddled about a bit with both cars for a while
As I’d promised my youngest Amy a ride out on our bikes today
Just going over the puma trying to find fault was amusing
Just no imperfections or anything needed
So it was just a good polish off with the autofinesse
The Mercedes? She just drives and looks sensational in my opinion I love just taking her out in the lanes locally
And I’ve booked RR weekender after my good pal Rick
Convinced me I must go this year even with house renovations to do

Insured the puma today, again as with other cars through AIB in Eastleigh hants, can’t recommend these people enough
They do what most of the others say they can do , but rarely live up to there own advertising…worth calling if you need A proper quote and not hollow words

First impressions after a good drive What a great car, why I hadn’t thought of buying one of these before baffles me Very responsive, fantastic driving position handles well And plenty of good all round vision even though It’s a coupe It is very different from the later escorts I’ve owned I thought it would drive exactly like one of those , far from it, fun car!  |

The reason these the mondeo and ka drive so well is the escort which was heavily critiscised by the press, these were targeted to be the best driving cars in their class one of the benchmsrks for the puma was the clio williams!

I remember hiring a car back in '99 when the Focus was new. It was the greatest surprise ever, I just couldn't believe how well it drove. So we'll in fact it reminded me of first time I drove an AlfaSud, that's how good the Focus was in my eyes. |

Interestingly, I am on my second 1.5 Zetec Diesel Focus, selected over 3 Series BMW and C-Class Benz that I am supposed to drive at my rank. It is a great driving car with a ton of extras, most of which I do not care for. But they are certainly good cars. |

Bit of a disaster today Heading back along the motorway after picking up my daughter from school
And a tipper lorry thunders up the slip road beside me and cuts in front of me spraying the car with rocks and other debris
Unfortunately my windscreen suffered two big bullseyes
Thanks to the tipper driver for acting very well with the hand gestures when I had a child in the car when I tried to tell him
A phone call and a detour visit to the quarry offices he had just left got me a proper conversation and an admission the lorry had left without a wheel wash or check
New windscreen will be paid for by the tipper company who I won’t name because they were very reasonable about it
I just hope a w202 toptint screen is available

Well that was a bit of a letdown
The tipper company has decided not to pay the £190 for my new screen due to the lorries camera not showing rocks and debris coming off it….never mind sorted myself with a £75 excess
And an email dropped to vosa
I doubt it’ll get anywhere , but that’s tipper firms for you

Local highways usually have a 'mud on road' type who can enforce the rules. If its a local road it will be the council highways that deal. may stop it happening to someone else.
