So after a long long time I thought an update on the sunny needed doing. so the boy found more fun in gaming than in the sunny so I pushed in a corner and left it for 8months. Son is still not that interested so I thought I’d have a play. cleaned out the old fuel and jet washed the tank also. Then removed and blew all through the fuel lines and some work on the carb with carb cleaner. And now she runs like a dream. In the year plus we have had the sunny we have covered a big 211 miles. 140 of them over the last week. Mot is booked in for Friday. So should be good to go. Took it to a local show this morning. And I am growing fond of this lol. Gotta change the fluids. Son still not intrested may buy it off him. It really is a nice driving car. Not fast with the auto box but a real little gem. Undicided if to keep or sell now she’s on the button. Where would you find another sunny with 23k on the clock. Decisions decisions eh.   |

Well yesterday I decided to have a play with the sunny. Not really done anything since its last mot. As not used I decided to take it back to Kent and swap over with the cortina. And bring the cortina back to Devon. Well I left at 4am for the trip. Did 20ish miles and the sunny didn’t like it. So I decided I was going to get the carb off and done properly. I took off the fuel supply pipe to the carb and had a dig around and found two blobs of rubbery kinda stuff that could have caused the fuel starvation. Once out and a good spray with carb cleaner. I popped it all back together and she runs the best she ever has. So I have secured a garage just around the corner from me and I am going to use the sunny. I am also going to get the cortina after a 4yr slumber and bring her home to Devon and they will share the garage and driveway. Well that is if the cortina is still there. Not been to the garage for 4 years. I am sure the cortina has a few issues after such a long time too. But looking forward to having them both home in Devon with me. Wish me luck.

Been out and about in the sunny today and she is running bang on. It really is a pleasure to drive. Yes it has an auto box and not fast in any stretch of the imagination but it goes ok. I need to do a few bits. Sort tick over and drivers window. Then a good clean. Funny how old cars look so small compared to modern small cars My Yaris is bigger that the sunny.  |
