SOLD SOLD SOLD
K Reg Jaguar XJ6 (4 litre AJ6) engine.
88'000 miles.
MOT until September.
Tons of old MOT'S and lots of parts invoices
Large selection of spares including brand new alternator, use alternator, headlights, door handles, refurbished rocker cover, track rod ends, fan & clutch, prop donut, thermostat, bumper brackets, driveshafts, manuals and much more.
The car starts, runs and drives, and can be driven home. I drove it once a week or so. Brakes are all good.
The engine and gearbox are absolutely excellent, with recent ignition system, new coil, refurb injectors. I have resealed the intake manifold onto the block and cleaned up the intake system to elimate an air leak.
I have fixed a rust hole (under the now green rust free wing).
The car drives, but the tyres are very old and are wobbly at 50-55mph.
The steering rack mounts have a small amount of play, which is a common fault on these cars and can be fixed with a large plastic washer.
The front ends of the sills will likely need patching up for the next mot. The floors are good and not rusty, as are the jacking points and the front inner arches (very common issue) . I have patched up two 20p sized holes under the rear screen, which is now water tight. Rear screen trim is included. Small hole requires patching inside the door sill. The shock absorbers will need replacing at some point, they're not great.
The car is fitted with factory subwoofers, and the radio works great. Aerial raises and lowers.
Original jaguar lattice wheels with centre caps.
Electric seats working fine, as is the cruise control, rear reading lights and vehicle computer. Interior is in excellent condition, headlining has sagged a bit but is there and the backing is solid.
This is a solid car and a great project, which is appreciating in value. Its cosmetically challenged, but its a good solid base which is why I bought it and invested in a ton of spares, many of which I haven't needed. I have simply not got the time to dedicate to it, with 7 other cars all requiring my time.
I am sad to part with the big cat, but I simply cannot afford all of my projects.
Car is located in Salisbury, Wiltshire. I am a 10 minute walk from the train station.
I have knocked £600 off the starting price. I urgently need it gone, a retrorider with a half sensible offer would get this for less than what it owes me. £1500 offers.
