I even mentally calculated where I could find £9K for a couple of seconds until I slapped myself and realised I already had too many cars. Pic for inspiration (stolen off'tinternet) AL.

Holy curse word that's cool! If you need any more nudging, there's a saloon version (Lark) that runs at Goodwood events:

I have spoken to the owner of this studebaker.. it is as cool as penguins pee but it ideally needs 4 doors, both sills and lower rear quarters which would push it well over budget....

Perhaps not this particular one as it looks like it's been pulled out of a hedge (it's still got bits of hedge in it!), but Triumph 2000 estates are dead cool. Can be had for well under budget in decent condition.

Why do I have a strange hankering for a trabby??? 🤔 Noooo. When the wall came down in Germany we used to have a Toyota Cressida, electric everything including the sunroof which was always open. I used to go home after driving on the Autobahn with a screaming headache. Following too many smokin Trabbis after they'd escaped and found real roads to drive on instead of cobbled streets!!

I thought that Mercedes looked familiar, I saw it parked up in Leamington Spa a couple years back 😅 Couple more spots from yesterday, the Merc in particular had a very RR feel about it

How about a 940 turbo estate? I've got two at the moment at varying levels of brokenness - one with HGF which is my daily drive and one which is more dismantled. Unfortunately I think the HGF was going when I got it, and using raised boost levels has finished it off.
They're fairly epic load luggers; I've moved a double mattress in the boot before, and last week two large bookcases. They're not as heavy as most think (~1350kg) and about 180hp can be had with a manual boost controller.
