Wow! I cant wait to see it at a show and check it out in detail. That is superb! Its also rare to see a mk2 Polo get "the works" instead of just lowered on ATS classics or similar...

That is really pretty, absolutely love the colour scheme! Red & chrome has never looked bad on anything ever, but mixed up with that cream makes it extra awesome Top marks for making it stand out.

I don't think its a problem to voice a negative opinion or the forum (after all a forum is for discussions) if you are not allowed to say anything negative we end up with everyone gushing over every car posted or no replies at all. I didnt slate the guys work AND I pointed out it was only my opinion, and I am always happy to post when I like a car or an idea, if someone don't like my car I would expect them to say so (in a reasonably polite way) I'm all for politeness but why not feel free to say what you think? If you stick pics in the public domain, you must expect critiscm as well as praise I reckon, and you wont find me saying I like something that I don't or being impressed by something just cos it happens to be "in fashion" or have a "scene" I'm to old and ugly to waste time farting about, I like to be able to say what I think. Ah yes, the Barry Boys argument. A fair one, and said with somewhat more tact and finesse than on that aformentioned forum. toaster, I struggle to see the worth in a lot of the VWs that get modded. Objectively I agree, it's a Polo Derby at the end of the day, but to him the end justfies the means. Playing devil's advocate, Cortinas do nothing for me other than occupy that strange universe of being rare when once they were ubiquitous (see also: Robin's Sierra). That little Polo is no different, the bloke is making it stay here in his own unique way, as you are by keeping the shell of your 'tina in use by dropping a 24V cosworth into it. I think the style \ performance ends of car modifying are diametrically opposed (if not quite as dialectically tense as the BB \ cruiser situation, and nowhere near as rude). I tend to lean to the latter rather than the former. Somewhere we all meet in the middle and the result is called Retro Rides. We've all been exploring the outer edges of what is good and what isn't, and I have to admit that sometimes the reception given to things that are German \ and or hardslammed is a bit too effusive for my tastes. We all have to come out of our comfort zone sometimes though, and I think with a bit of neck retraction your points are valid enough. Criticism is as valid as fawning, I think in our haste to create a tolerant and friendly atmosphere for all who visit we lose sight of that sometimes. ;D

I really like this - quite liked it in its original guise (if a little confused) Nice to see it being taken to the next level (& beyond) - will certainly be one of the cars to look out for during next years show season. Strange I saw this on Club Polo this morning & was just going to post the link up when I spotted i'd been beaten to it For me, this is what modifying our previously mundane cars is all about - the challenge is making them faster, handle better or look better. I think older cars take on a new aesphetic appeal as they drop out from being seen regularly on our public roads - where as most modern cars seem to follow the generic rounded Audi A4 shape at the moment, its refreshing and noticable when you see something older/squarer

Lets clear up car terms: "Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car. "Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car. "Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence. "Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

I assume it's a no no in case of ped v car and said ped gettin burnt and snagged in engine compartment....so dude needs a transparent bonnet like new ferraris have transparent engine covers up back.. There are plenty of rods out there that run without bonnets without too much hassle, especially Model T's ;D
