My MK2 Golf has black leather Recaro's in the front. These are starting to look a little tired so could do with a bit of a refresh. When these were fitted to the car (well before my ownership), the previous owner had managed to aquire a leather rear bench, but this looks like it was originally grey/cream and has been dyed black to match. It may have been OK at the time, but it's now looking quite patchy and almost dirty.
Now, I don't want to spend a fortune as long term plans are for a full retrim, but I'd like to freshen it up for the next 2 or so years. Has anyone used any dyes that they can recommend? I'm happy to buy a kit of cleaners/dyes/conditioners, or just a dye, i'm easy.

Bit of a delay to this one, but following some other posts on here I grabbed some Kaps preparer and Super Color dye from Amazon and have started on the rear bench.
After 3 coats it’s covered well but over 24hrs later it’s still tacky to the touch and feels like it would come off it you were to sit on it. Is it normal to need some kind of sealer/finishing coat?

My fear is this might be what I have to do. mine seems slightly less ‘sticky’ this evening, so maybe another 24hrs will dry it enough to try conditioning it and see how it fairs. It’s very rare the back seat is used so it’s a good one to experiment on!
