Loving that. Simple really. Long roof love. Not really sure the pictures represent quite how long the beast is! Was a close call, was nearly seduced by a 67 Monaco wagon but the fins lured me in😁 It's a fair walk from one end to the other for sure. Stick a pair of overriders on the front bumper and it'll be the same length as my Fury! The term "full size vehicle" was only really topped by Ford in the late 70's.

Huh. Don't ask me how I missed this one because I've no idea. Re the van keys, they're fairly easy to recode, you might have enough matching tumblers in the back door set to match them to the fronts. They're coded in 0.025" steps, at that year in 4 steps. The blanks with the octagon head on are available on the key rack here for $0.80 each so if you have trouble finding them let me know. I say baby blue and cream. But then again, I'm biased. Phil Cheers Phil, went with a single pick up lock set for the ignition/front doors and a separate barrel for the rear end door, just easier that way. Definitely discovering that compared to Chevrolet it's far harder to source Plymouth spares... although have got most things sorted, including PAS kit on the way(although brake booster is a little trickier🤷🏽♂️). Am finding lots of issues with back ordered parts even for the Chevy right now, barn door seals and replacement rear lights being a bug bear right now. Also the brake kit seems to be taking an age to land and the UK importer(Farm Fresh) is being a little evasive😬🤞

Definitely discovering that compared to Chevrolet it's far harder to source Plymouth spares... It is; trim parts are horrible to find but mechanical parts are generally cheap and easy because Chrysler used so much in common over the years. Worth the hunt though, that's a nice car.

Very cool! Love the van and love how this escalated in to buying another vehicle that needs some work too. I've just pulled the same stunt haha

So, quick breakfast survey of the "urgent" to-do tasks for the Plymouth.. Wipers not working - no 'feel' in the switch so that's my starting point and check there is a supply to that and then whether it's switching🤞 Missing Sill/Scuff/tread plates - All 4 are missing, there are some trims in trunk but I don't think they're there. Could be a nightmare to track a set down😬 Door Seals/Weatherstrips - all totally perished and again probably a nightmare to track down(even some for the Chevy are back ordered)🙄 Tailgate window not dropping - can hear the motor trying so potentially the mechanism is detached somewhere but can't open it unless that drops. Have got the NOS tailgate so might get that painted and simply swap everything over then😁 Battery clamp missing - simple fabrication piece to stop it bouncing about.. Am sure other tasks will emerge as I delve deeper but these are my priorities... on the plus side the Bluetooth module in the radio is great so it's Surf guitar all the way while cruising😎

It appears the live feed for the wiper switch got moved to feed something else, which presently I can't trace. However the switch once connevted seems to vary the motor speed but not the on/off, although there seems to be some forward/backward movements so perhaps the switch is meant to push/pull for operation then twist for speed? Equally it's missing the washer bottle and pump, originally this was a vac pump system foot operated & and found that bracket which appears modified with a switch for electrics but no idea where that all got located. Whilst begging for information on the Forward Look I was pointed towards an awesome mopar library... My MoparNot sure whether it breaches copyrights but it's a mine of useful period resource data🙂

Selected on, it should run the motor at whatever variable speed you set it to, forwards. That should wipe the screen in a partial arc (wipers shouldn't touch the bottom of the screen). Switched off, it reverses the field coil polarity which makes the motor run backwards. That should make the arm hop off the cam and wind down to squeeze flat against the bottom of the screen. This can go all weird if the grease in the gearbox dries up and the mechanism cannot move freely. The wiring for the motor is moderately complex by today's standards, they might have had trouble understanding what it does when it's in the on position versus off. You should have 4 wires going to the wiper motor. Also, don't break that wiper switch. They're freakishly expensive ($250+). Headlight switches on the other hand are about ten dollars...

Cheers Phil, useful think my switch is goosed then as it doesn't push/pull(does have 4 wires coming off Yellow/Red/Black/Blue) ...looks like my switch is about $150 plus shipping - Mopar all lists a NOS one plus they sell the Weatherstrips I need

Clearly its rear end light day in the I'm household.... broken/cracked/faded lights are bad☹️.... Nice shiny NOS & Reproduction lights are good😎(and always think dodgy lights are a really soft way to attract unnecessary attention and explaining to traffic police)... The Chevy lights are repro and took a while on back order, but the Plymouth are new old stock... delivered within a week from the US😊.. will be very happy to sort that later this week, a single NOS lens was nearly as expensive as the 2 lights I bought. Plus sill plates sourced from Big M Automotive and the full set of weather strips ordered for the Plymouth, just the Servo/booster to address but brakes are OK once you know they need a decent amount of pressure😬

It's kind of strange how quickly things can escalate, when I looked at the Plymouth I knew it would need a few bits and bobs 'tidying' up... and it drives great, the wipers now work and the bits for the washer system are coming. But I had noted the tyres needed replacing as there was lots of crazing on the sidewalls. Lots of consternation, should I replace or upgrade wheels & tyres as whilst the moon discs on steels do give it that salt flats push car look they don', t fill the arches🤔... decisions, decisions.. but a set of new whitewalls appeared on F/B marketplace, in the size I want, down south but near to where I'll be on Saturday... seems almost churlish not to get them😊

'Small' modification by way of adding the whitewalls, huge increase in the cool factor co-efficient... some cars whitewalls don't work, but for me 2 tone USA steel its the right look... yes the wheels don't fill the arches but until then I like the look😎 It's not negative camber at the back just a fisheye perspective due to needing extra wide angle to fit the full 18' in shot😲

Sill plates arrived from the US this weekend... amusingly the car already had a "Big M" sticker on the back... they need a good clean & polish since like me & the car they're reflecting their years a tad😳 Definitely neater than the rusty gulley (ooh err😳) Certainly happy to recommend John at Big M for mopar soares, his communication isn't great but the prices/quality seem spot on for S/H shipped direct😁

I'd been suggested Big M elsewhere, and was given the advice "call him on the phone", rather than use the newfangled electro-computational device.
