I'm a year into refurbishing a RT40 Corona that's been sitting in a barn since 1983. I'm finaly done with most the broken stuff that I can fix with a lot of patience and knowhow. So now I need to find a few parts, most likely a new carburetor, water pump is not unlikely aswell. (2R engine) The inner headlights also need replacement since the entire headlights seem to be made to be swapped as one. You can see the missing headlights in the picture. And if anyone knows where to get the original toyota mudflaps I would apreciate it! Does anyone know of any hidden gems of websites where I might find it?

goosegog should know about where you can get your parts from. When I had my TA18 Carina, it was a case of finding old parts catologues and searching for parts that way. I didn't find a 'one stop shop' so as to speak.

I didn't find a 'one stop shop' so as to speak. Sent goosegog a message a while ago and he was a big help by reminding me that mounting a weber carb could be a nice backup plan if I cant get the original one to stop leaking. As luck would find it I'm also talking to a youtuber that has one of these in pakistan, where you can aparantly still find parts for them at auto stores. So if I'm lucky he could help source parts and send them. But looking through old parts catalouges sounds like a pretty good idea! So I'm going to see if I can find a few on ebay.

For some reason Ebay is being generous and has almost everything I could wish for today. But the biggest issue is still the carby being a utter a**hole, gave it new gaskets and a good clean but it still leaks a tiny amount and therefore the car refuses to idle. I hope to have it put through it's first ever EU controll (same as MOT) this spring so I'm getting desperate for a solution that doesnt break the bank.

A little update, after yet another way to expensive rebuild kit the carb is finaly doing it's job. I got in contact with a dutch guy living in Asia that live for these cars. I've been looking for a new wiper motor since I bought the car and he sourced one in literaly 5 minutes. He also makes parts for it on order, wich obviously is way to expensive for me. I will post a link to his webstore when I recieve the parts. Ebay also keeps stepping up to the task if you're stubborn enough like me to do the same search every day for months to see if a new part is available.

Hello again! Just thought I'd recomend the FB page named "Shovelnose coronas restaurers and modifiers" if you need parts. a couple thousand people all over the world that somehow knows where to find anything and everything. There is especialy an older gentleman in the states named Carlyn that has an amazing parts collection and is willing to ship anywhere. Does not take paypal or such, but if you can figure out payment he most likely has it all. This post is ment just as much for future wrenchers that are in dire need of parts and find the forum. I know I would have loved this tip.
