Are coilover locking rings interchangeable?

	I've gone to drop the front on my b5. 5 passat today and found the locking Collars are in a rite mess, previous owners must have used a chisel on them. I have (somewhere) a set of lupo coilovers and wondered if I could use the collars from those?

	depends on the thread diameter and pitch, but there's only a small handful of sizes used.

	Depends if the diameter is the same, I tried fitting hsd lockers on my bc coilovers & they were completely different size.
