To the left is my Gran and to the right is my mum. The car i think is a monaco The car isn't important location is key. This is just off the roundabout at Seaburn (Sunderland) by the park or further up the prom.
My Grandfather owned a car garage just behind Roker Park in the 20's -30's and was basically as shady as they come and gambled away every single penny then disappeared.
He used to like to pose and as shown in the photo they would take cars up to the sea front early in the day and then stay there all day playing records as he had a portable gramophone so every one passing could see and hear. The only issue was they could only leave at the very end of the day as often they couldn't afford the petrol so ended up pushing the cars home , they also only had one record.
As a side he did socialise with Reg Vardy and my mum used to know the Vardy's many years ago.
