A couple of weeks ago I posted some pictures of an old Austin in the abandoned thread. Well I went to clear out my Cortina spares from my friend's shed which is likely to be demolished in the not too distant future and took a few more pics of the car.
It was owned by my friend's father and he had it dry stored for probably 25 years - doing bits and pieces to it over the years, and I know it was running at some point as I remember him driving it round the show arena at the local steam fair. He died last year, and its now inherited by three brothers - while two of them are into cars they know they won't be able to do anything with it so want to sell it. Apparently, a few years ago some Austin enthusiast had offered to buy it but never came to collect it, so it has sat outside now for several years. Anyway here are a few pictures:
It needs saving and the owners are open to offers on it - its definately not another one of those cars where the owner will get round to restoring it so won't let it go for any price! I know there are a few people on here with connections in the 1930s car world - so I thought it would be worth seeing if it can be saved. Let me know if you are interested and I'll put you in touch.
By the way, its in Surrey.
Cheers
