Hello
I have no idea about the jag Market but I have been offered a 1997 XK8, below is what I know:
110K No MOT Engine rebuilt 10K ago due to nikasali issues New Gearbox at same time, all work carried out by Jagtech New rear arches but tbh they are bubbling as are rear quarters Cills look rough It does start and run plus moves under its own power, MOT expired 3 years ago Headliner sagging
Not much to go on I know, but is it worth a punt to store away for a rainy day?

Bodywork is going to cost a few quid to get sorted to a good standard.
Can you stick it through a mot to see what the fail sheet is like?

Car is owned by a friend who is moving to France and is about 130 miles from me (the car). While the MOT will give me an idea of the road worthiness they can still hide many things. A few have come through this very forum which have had many body and mechanical issues, I’m trying to make a calculated risk on whether it’s worth investing in one of Browns Lane finest or do I do what the KLF did and burn the money in a car park 🤡

I really like these. The money seems to be for low mileage XKRs, the values on the XK8s are a bit softer. I was watching a couple of eBay about six months ago, MOTd but a bit rough round the edges and they seemed to be £1300-£1600. I’m sure there was a silver one on here not too long ago for £2-£2.5k silver with an MOT. Might have been a pSyCoSiS car? I don’t think it would ever be mega money, the XKR would be the one to own for that, but if it’s sub £1500 it’s probably worth a punt.
