Hi All, As per the thread title, I have a problem with the fuelling on my 320d (M47 engine,) The code reads as a low reading on the fuel pressure regulator, I have already replaced the lift pump in the tank, I've been offered a complete fuel rail off an N47 320d, does anyone know, would the sensors be compatible / fit ?? (I'm also wondering if it might be "high pressure pump" related as she's done 176000 miles so might be worn out ??) Any advice gratefully received, Nigel

Hi, Thanks for the response, I'll have to re-scan tomorrow morning sorry, can't remember, The problem manifests as an occasional"misfire / stumble" when on tickover accompanied by a cracking noise, even to the point where it occasionally will stall but starts up again immediately, As I said, I'll re-scan tomorrow and post it up, Nigel

Chances are it's the fuel rail pressure sensor then. Only way to cross reference would be to double check the part numbers against each other, that said I wouldn't bother with a used sensor.

Further to my last, there are 2 sensors on the rail, one at either end, I assume the regulator is the one at the "forward (radiator) end", what is the rear ward sensor ?? Nigel

The one at the pump end is the pressure sensor.

Sorry, Confused now, Which should I change, the larger one at the front of the engine or the smaller one at the back ?? Cheers, Nigel

The front one nearest the fuel pump is the pressure sensor. Number 3 in this diagram

That's odd, the arrow bottom right always points to the front of the car in their diagrams.

Well I've definitely never disturbed them until the other day and then I only took the front (large) sensor out, Curious, 🤔🤔 Nigel

Hi xbl, Just to close on this, today I pulled the inlet manifold off, (got to do that anyway to get the rearmost sensor out,) As I stated, the sensor / regulator are the reverse of the diagram but could not be reversed in error as one has a two pin plug and the other a three pin plug, Strange that but I'll get a new sensor to try anyway, Again, many thanks for the help, Nigel
