Hi considering to buy a Ford Focus Ecoboost 1,6 150 or 180bhp Petrol from around 2014 or 15 after the summer. I heard some issues with overheating / head problems if run on low coolant level. Anybody first hand experience on them?
thanks, Thom ps: NO! I do not buy any Volkswagen group product anymore so do not suggest! ;-)

We have a 1.6 180bhp one. It drives nice - great for overtaking Had it a couple of years now with no issues - it's a 2013 model. It does sip a little coolant regularly, but the coolant sensor complains when only half a tea cup has gone, so it's keeping it safe!

They're the only Ecoboost engine I've never seen the insides of so must be pretty good. We've got a complete engine at work keep thinking I ought to do something with it, wonder if it'd bolt onto a MX5 NC box
