I'm selling my mk3 2.8i Granada Ghia Manual
MOT'd June 2022
The car is in very nice condition for the age. There's a couple of small rust spots and a small dent PDR person has popped out with some but not total success.
There's no rust on the bottom of the doors and it doesn't look like it's ever been welded underneath. The few jobs I've done on this have been a joy as nothing is rusted up and seized and comes apart much easier than some of my newer cars..
Over all it's in really nice shape. At some point in the past someone has taken time to seal and waxoil everything, which has paid off.
The inside is in very nice condition with a small crack on the dash but not the usual mess. The seats are very comfy and due to the amount of glass you get on these older cars is very light, bright and easy to drive. The electric window switch on the drivers side is playing up. I take it out and clean it with electrical cleaner and it will work for 2 weeks then stop working again . Also the the electric door mirrors don't work but I've never looked at it. All the carpets, seats, centre console and door cards are in great condition. The boot struts could do to be replaced as it's a heavy boot lid.
I'm honest here all these issues could be fixed reasonably easily or just live with them as I've done.
The car starts and drives fine with plenty of power. I just changed the oil, coolant and flushed through the brake fluid recently it was sitting in my garage not doing much during lock down.
I also just fitted a new gearbox mount as it was an advisory on the MOT.
One thing to note is the v5 say the engine is a 2.9i and the engine looks like the newer style one. The 2.8 was very short lived in these so I always assume they fitted the 2.9 to as some kind of cross over while going to the new model.
There's certain no indication any of the loom was cut up to make anything fit it all looks very OEM.
Having owned a few 70's and early 80's Fords I think these mk3 Granada's are quite interesting as you can see in starting to be come more like a modern car. Not just in it's features but in the way it's been built and constructed, how it drives and how the controls feel.
I've had it for nearly 2 years but unfortunately I didn't get any history with it. I do have the v5 and 2 keys though.
I maybe open to a P/X on another classic Any question please ask!
I'm based in Ayrshire, Scotland about 30 miles west of Glasgow.
