Hello all,
as above, my old.. er.. 'trusty' Sintra keeps blowing the 15amp fuse for Ign/Ecm/Tcm. I suspected a short circuit and two weeks ago found that the cable to the crank sensor was stripped from rubbing on the alternator belt. I patched it all up and thought I'd nailed it. Yesterday the fuse blew again while the wife and kids were out shopping, I cycled out there and put a new fuse in and now it runs fine again but I obviously haven't got to the bottom of it.
Any ideas or previous experiences with such a thing appreciated. I don't know if it's incidental but it has cold starting problems ( and when it does cold start the fans come immediately on then switch off after a minute) and often gets a bit of a strong petrol smell from the front end without any dripping.
Cheers
Todd

Don’t know if it’s practical in your case, but what I usually do in intermittent fuse blowing scenarios is to replace the fuse with a 5w bulb You can then work through the wiring and see when the bulb illuminates or goes out Having the bulb in circuit also stops the dead short and ( hopefully!) stops the smoke escaping from the loom 😱 I should say obviously at your own risk, and I don’t drive like this, driveway testing only HTH düdo

Hello@comfortablynumb and thanks for the idea - I will give it a go. Til I find the problem I am driving around with a bag of 15 amp mini-fuses - it sometimes doesn't spit one for a week.

Yeah, nothing worse than an intermittent fault, particularly an electrical one Good luck!
