This post was set up a long time ago now to find a mini I used to own in the late 90’s The vehicle was bought as a cat c write off that was bought back from the insurance company (previous owner bought it back. in typical teenage fashion is was beat out and put back on the road and adorned with every bit of 90’s tat that smarts auto parts could provide lol I offered a £500 reward for I formation that led to a purchase of this vehicle so that I could correctly straighten the shell and repair its damage. The car changed hands a few times and many mods were carried out by various young owners I think this has been found now but I haven’t actually seen the car in the flesh nor have I bought it.. I want to thank everyone who helped with the search for the car

Worth contacting any local Norfolk mini clubs to see if anyone remembers it and also posting on the mini forum. Facebook for local mini groups in Norfolk is probably your best best .

You don't have to join in and be a paid up member so to speak , just post a message. Thats the only way i can see you finding it is by getting a message seen by the mini owning community in that area . Most of them are really helpful as they seem to be a car with great sentimental roots for a lot of us .
I think we all get meldrew as we get older so don't worry , I'm much the same .

I’m already getting great advice and support on this site so I’m comfortable with the choice (some mini only forums aren’t what they used to be) I don’t have a Facebook account or any social stalking pages some searching locally has shown that most local club contact is now through Facebook (I’ve no intention of having that adware/malware etc on my devices) If anyone does have life invader pages (gta5 reference) and wants to help track this down then some added beer tokens would be added to the crate 👍

Would offering a decent sized reward tempt anyone to take on the project of finding this car for me? Someone very good at this kind of thing? Thanks You could temporarily join Facebook and search yourself. I'm not on Facebook so am not even sure that is possible.

Strange thing... about 5 years ago one of my old local scrap yards on a farm, use to have classics knocking about that they would either break/sell whole or keep to them selves and the one day when i was rummaging around there yard, i found a mini just like this one between two containers and the reason why i remember, was because it was black with chequered roof and there was writing down the side of it and it was fitting with a roll cage. Now.. it may and most likely was a different car.. but it may of been it. When i asked one of the lads at the yard if it was for sale, the one guy said no as it was being restored. I'm based in Redditch, Worcestershire and the scrapyard shut down around 3 years ago and unfortunately, i didn't get a picture of the mini or the reg.. but if i recall correctly, on the retro rides abandoned thread, someone was at that same yard and had taken a load of pictures, which may contain a picture of the mini. I'll have a look later on the abandoned thread.
Sorry the info isn't of any use, but i thought i'd share!

I've just had a look on the abandoned thread and i think the person who did post the pictures, are longer longer viewable on the thread.

Thank you gte86does the check you used have regular updates? It’s just that DVLA shows the following.. A bit late to the party, but a date of new logbook doesn't have to mean a new keeper, does it? I imagine (but have nothing concrete to base it on!) that a change of address wouldn't trigger the new keeper date but would trigger a new V5?

That's correct, any new v5c for any reason will trigger the date.

Thank you for the post and information its likely to be a different mini as the wording down the side was removed before sale and I don’t think any more was added, but you never know? Ive been searching old threads and I watch a lot of explorers channels on YouTube at scrapyards etc and I haven’t spotted it yet
