I was about to say they also do the Ecosport in a 4WD version (even to this day) but the pics show that. I think it would be a fab little 4x4 to rival the Jimny & Panda if they did it right.

lord13Fun fact I discovered the other day - Ford of Brazil did the original Mk1 Ford EcoSport in 2005 (not the horrible mk2 we get here) which is an awesome looking little soft-roader (a bit like a mini Honda CR-V) clearly based on the Fusion platform - looks like a lot of shared parts. I wonder if the headlamps would be interchangeable as they are way cool! Or if suspension bits can be got? I did see the Brazil Eco sport while researching what I could do to the Fusion. And I did try to find mk1 eco sport headlamps, but no joy. On further inspection of the fusions Headlamp unit, the whole thing is basically plastic clipped together with sealant, so can come apart without damage to any component which means I could probably remove the reflector assembly and retro fit some sealed beam units or something in its place . . . food for thought..

I did another photoshop (can't seem to stop) of the Fusion from the side with blanked out windows and a 1" lift as per the strut-top kits joem83 posted. 1" lift with strut spacers and 2" bigger grabber tyres = 2" overall lift with minimal effort Somebody needs to build one of these! (Wish I could but not at the moment - maybe a summer project next year to carry the electric bike next on my list of projects) lord13 I think with those sort of sealed headlamps you just put them in the oven on a really low heat for a bit to soften the sealant. Fixed beams (with grilles on!) inside those units and a mini/landrover indicator lens would look amazing. Or even just painting the non-functional chrome inside the lamp with Vantablack would be pretty good too. I've often wondered if these lights are the same as Mk1 Transit Connect. They're very similar if not. BONUS POST CONTENT! I roughed out a Cube version which would be pretty nice too: (calling fr€$h&m1nt¥! Tagging Kron 75swb

Littlepixel The lift kit grabbed my attention too it looks good on your version. I've now got a roof basket fitted to mine, not as fancy as the one in your picture but it was a £16 win on ebay so can't complain, pictures to follow ( when I remember to ). I was looking at connect headlamps too, they do seem to be similar... The cube is amazing ... and I love roof tents, I just can't afford one right now

I did another photoshop (can't seem to stop) Any chance you could try your formula on a Panda 169 variant? I think it might look good, like a smaller version of the Cube

I did a bit of a google for Brazilian Ecosport lamps but the only thing I could find was a bulk buy of 50 pairs on AliBaba.com so a bit of a no-no unless we can start a 4x4 Fusion club and get some others interested (kidding -this is too niche) It feels like this 'look' works on a lot of small 'scrappy' cars and vans - Honda HRV, Suzuki Ignis Sports, Kangoos, Yetis, Transit Connects, Doble - anything boxy (ie pre about 12 years ago) and fun seems ripe for small lift, grippy tyres and nato paint

Mk1 Giorgetto Giugiaro Panda 4x4, of course would also look awesome.

Massive improvement over the showroom version. 'factory'

Littlepixel I do like that panda, I toyed with the idea of a panda before I bought the Fusion, I couldn't quite stretch to a cross though but they do look good. Here's a few pics of the roof basket, it's little on the small side but I could use longer bars I suppose. I also added a pair of spotlights I had kicking around, I'm not sure about them either, they seem too big and a bit too square. I think round ones or the narrow LED type you can get on ebay for not too many pennies. They aren't fully wired in yet, I did have them going for the pics, but as you can see they're not on, that's because the fuse blew about a second before I pressed the button on the camera. Typical. Anyway, they might not be staying I shall have to see if they grow on me.

'factory' I was quite literally looking at a green cross on autotrader last night. It's either buy a 4x4/Cross or tart my panda up as per your photoshop skills 🤔🙂

I know what you mean, I've discovered 5 live in my village ... don't really think I noticed that before I got one. 🤔 you would've thought I'd've noticed them because I've owned Fusions before but no, they only came out of the woodwork once I started driving one again...

They ARE everywhere - which makes them such a good candidate for a bit of personality (and cheap to pick up as well) lord13 - yours is looking really sweet - love the spots up there high on the roofbox - really cool. And so what if the box isn't massive - it's rocking the look really well. Here's a Yeti and an Ignis, apropos of nothing other than why not.

Some dude built a 'sleeper'Yeti with an Audi TT RS drivetrain in it. HP in the 700s.

So... The fusion has gone. It's MOT was up and it sailed through, only needing a track rod end, absolute win for a £400 car. However, 2 days before, my sisters 1.6 auto fusion snapped it's cam belt, late at night, just outside of some strange place called 'Totnes' or something similar, she lives so far down south it's virtually a different country. Anyway, It was dark and she kept trying to start it until the battery died, then the Green Flag man came out and tried to jump start it until it just 'sounded like a bag of bolts' according to my sister. He then gave up and stated ' that's one broken engine', chucked it on the back of his truck and took her home to Plymouth. She rang me the next day and explained what happened. I talked her through taking the cam belt cover off via video phone, and we were met with two bare pulleys and the stripped remains of the belt, so I guess that between my sister and the Green Flag guy they managed to batter the engine to destruction trying to start the poor thing. So being the fabulous and amazing guy I am, I drove down to Plymouth and gave her my freshly mot'd Fusion. I'm now left with no car, and virtually no funds as I did not sell my car... Anyway, I'm in the market for something, hopefully retro, or maybe just a bit quirky, for roughly 600 - 700 quid. After that the cupboard is bare.. Doesn't need a hell of a lot of MOT, but it does need enough to get me to the spring at least with not too much trouble Any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated cheers

What about your sister giving you her broken one and you could drop a ST engine in?
