Hope i've got the right place for this thread...
One of the jobs I need to do on my MK2 is to treat the surface rust in the spare wheel well. I'm hopeful that the metal is still thick enough to treat and paint, and there are also a couple of other areas within the boot that have attracted a bit of an orange tinge that i'd like to sort out at the same time. Having been away from anything with any level of grot for at least 20 years, I was wondering if you guys could give me an idea of the best approach - scotchbrite pads and rust killer? disc in the angle grinder? Obviously it'll be etch primered and painted afterwards, it's the steps before that i'd like some recommendations on.
Thanks in advance!
