Hi all! New here, snooped around for a while and found some good info so thought I should join. To briefly introduce myself I'm from Australia, building a custom Honda S600 with a CBR1100 Blackbird engine, which I will share soon.
Onto the gritty stuff and where I desperately need the internets wealth of experience. This little Honda came to me already modified with a Datsun 1200 engine/gearbox but a so far non existent diff that doesn't belong to any car! I have looked everywhere and asked everywhere on model specific sites/forums/FB pages and hope a boarder community may help.
The Diff:
Not very wide, roughly 1230mm flange to flange
The terrible 4x108PCD (which yes I know and have searched all make with this PCD)
Unique square flanges
Metric studs
From memory around 4.5 ratio
Leaf/shock absorber only - no panhard/watts link/trailing arms
Cable handbrake which goes through the backing plate with central pivot (as pictured) - no mechanical arm that sticks out the back
A very strange manufactures(?) mark on case
Whatever this diff is out of it's of very close if not exact size. The diff is relatively unmodified minus some additional brackets. I know it's unmodified because if the diff tube was shortened, new axles would need to be made and in this case they wouldn't be square and they would of matched the PCD to the front PCD, an even worse 5x130!
One last thing is due to the metric studs (which I guess could easily have be swapped) it would have to be JDM? Especially being from an early vehicle. It also has of all things Daihatsu shocks! I know these don't necessarily mean they came with the diff but they're quite odd to be on the car, right? I've had other suggest Daihatsu without me mentioning this too but as far as I can research Daihatsu never used 4x108 but perhaps they did on a not so common or early model which hasn't got a lot of internet knowledge on.
