Just casually decided to check when I last posted in this thread, January 3rd, Jesus I've been lacking...
Anyways quick update (pic heavy) its still in one piece and not rotted away (surprising for an mx5 that's not been undersealed.....I really need to sort that out...anyways)
March:
- Got quite a nice little surpise as I was told that they were supposed to be arriving in June, the brand spankin new watanabes arrived from Japan (still would love a set of SSR MKII's but I need to refrain from spending on yahoo auctions, its bad enough as it is...
Couldn't be happier with them, with them arrived I decided to get the other bits from zoom engineering japan that I bought fitted as I wanted to wait till the wheels arrived.
First off the metal filler cap, I decided a more unique decision is rather than leaving the base chrome to body colour it, so a quick (couple hours) sand down I ordered some official mazda rattle cans and off to spraying and left them inside to dry (I'm not too much of a maniac to spray indoors and huff the fumes, well maybe with model kits but thats beside the point)
Honestly pleased with how they came out, at first I wasn't too sure how it would look but its grown on me.
With that sorted it was off to the local tire shop to get the wheels fitted and balanced
Literally the next day I decided to remove the clear indicator lights on the wings and it was time to fit the smaller vintage styled ones from zoom engineering, what a difference
You might have noticed the awful arch gap (have around 1.5 inchs or how I measured using the most scientific method, ramming my fingers in-between the wheel and the top of the arch which equated to two) at the time of writing this I still need to sort this out, granted I have bottomed out already on a few awful speedbumps but that's aside the point I personally want to drop it 20mm or as low as I can go before I need to roll fenders, either way I couldn't be happier with how they looked on the car especially with the chunky watanabe centrecaps which I thought were a must to ensure people knew I overspent on minilite reps
