Well well well, The Subaru community had been a fantastic help so far on this project. I have had many people who have been dealing with them for years giving me fantastic advice and offering original parts that i need. I went ofr a clean of the interior the other day even if the seats and door cards are the wrong ones. Another thing to add to the list. It currently has facelift seats in as well as door cards and steering wheel.
I managed to source some original wheels for her but i think she has the later calipers so will need to hget hold of the smaller ones for the wheels to fit.
I'm told that its likely one of the first UK2000 to ever enter the UK and i have contacted Subaru UK with the VIN in the hope they can confirm this. There were only 131 UK2000 registered in 1996 which makes this car that little bit more special.
Having talked to auction houses and Subaru restorers they are saying to avoid repair panels for the rust and i we were going to do it to find a car to cut panels from. However they are more inclined to say that the car may well fetch as much money with the bodywork as it is. So at the moment we are leaning to wards a mechanical restoration and sending her for auction as the bodywork stands with prefacelift bonnet.
