Anyone had a gen2 Megane convertible? I've seen a low miles 2 owner car, it's the 2.0 and looks great. Not an auto but I could live with that if they are generally okay. I'm not after high performance thrills just a comfy top down cruiser. Is that the CC? I had one new (05 plate) & it was decent although in the 12m I had it, it did have to go back for waranty work lol

Thanks for the idea though 👍 Fair enough, the Mrs has a diesel golf of the same era and while it serves its purpose really well, its very dull so I'd agree on it likely boring.

Only issue I have ever found with 4/5 seater drop tops is it's impossible in most of them to have a conversation between front seat and rear seat passengers

Yes, I'm not totally strict on the auto part and I did look at this car and think it would be nice to save it but it's just not my cup of tea unfortunately.

They are rarely dry inside is my opinion - work colleague had one from new and had a lot of warrenty work to resolve leaks and water ingress - expenditure continued after warranty ended and spent a bloody fortune continuing to fix the problems

Well that balances me out - we can agree there is only a 50/50 chance of water leaks

🤣🤣🤣 agreed.
To be fair, on reflection that was from new and I used gummi pflege on the rubbers to keep em supple. Not sure I'd be so confident in aged seals.

Only issue I have ever found with 4/5 seater drop tops is it's impossible in most of them to have a conversation between front seat and rear seat passengers Is that because you have to leave the rear passengers at home because the back seats are unusable? That's the biggest question - what do you need the back seats for? If it's for adults, make sure the rear seats can be used with the roof up and down. Often passengers either need to have detachable legs or no head above the eyebrows. Anything originally designed as a saloon or coupe will normally fall into these categories.

The back seats would have been for my two boys aged 8 and 6 so no clearance issues there, however as usual I've seen something else that I keep my eye out for regularly (not retro) which I'm going to see this afternoon and so the convertible is probably off the cards now
