I'm looking to buy a table saw. I find myself drawn to Makita as most of my power tools are that make and all seem well made and never give me any problems, but I'm open to suggestions, I have a budget of up to £500, thanks in advance.
I have an ancient (80s or 90s) ELU flip over table saw which can be used as a mitre saw and that pretty much does everything and is leagues better quality than anything made today. The down side is being all metal construction it is heavy maybe 40+kg which makes it too big for lugging from job to job unless I'm going to be there for a couple of weeks.
I also have a DeWalt crate saw (looks like a yellow plastic milk crate) good for site use as it is light weight and I believe the new versions come with a sack barrow type arrangement for easy movement.
However to be absolutely honest since I got my rail saw both have hardly been used, too much faff and ripping down 8x4 sheets is really a 2 man job.
