Hi guys,
I finally purchased an Austin Montego in memory of my dad. Kept it clean and tidy with a few modern tweaks.
I intended to lower it but have run into various problems......I got 2" lowered springs as the shocks were no longer available.
The front fitted with original shocks and looked okay (not too low) But the rear springs fell out of the cups so my mechanic friend was not happy to fit them.
I was happy with the raked stance and then found GAZ shocks do them and promptly ordered a pair......2 weeks later I got a refund as they no longer make them.
I have now found out that VW polo 6n shocks fit?
What I need to know is what year? Can I buy a lowered set or normal? I've heard they need slight modifications, if so what?
I'm sorry this is so long but hoping to get it sorted for when the car shows (hopefully) start!
Many thanks to anyone that can help as it seems I'm hitting so many problems, I realise it's not as popular a car as say ford's or Vauxhalls but it's what my dad had.
Regards
Mark. (btw I know the sumps are low on these)
